Microblading/NanoBrows is an artistic semi-permanent make-up technique in which hair strokes are created by implanting colour pigment beneath the surface of the skin by means of tiny, sterile, disposable needles. The difference between them is that Microblading can last longer and give the eyebrows a fuller look, while the NanoBrows can last up to 1 year and the results are so subtle that your beauty is enhanced as if no artificial procedure has been done.

The pigment colour is chosen to match your natural eyebrow colour. The shape and hair strokes created are fully customized to suit your eyebrows. Only the best pigments are used.

It is an extremely refined technique that guarantees a completely natural-looking set of eyebrows and a gradual fading over time. If your skin is oily, your eyebrows will eventually look softer and have more of a “powdered” look. Results vary with each client.

Pain threshold levels vary from person to person. Many clients say that it feels like gentle scratches. Having this treatment performed during your menstrual cycle may increase discomfort during the procedure.

As a precaution, this procedure is not performed on pregnant or nursing women.

The procedure includes two sessions. Your second (touch-up) session can be booked between 6 and 8 weeks after the initial appointment. Annual refresher will cost 150 for NanoBrows and 200 for Microblading. One year (for NanoBrows) and two years (for Microblading) after your first session, a new service will be required at full price.

A brow mapping and analysis are done for each client. The results and client expectations are discussed so we can together find the perfect shape for your brows.

It is also possible to book an intake session prior to the treatment.

Semi-permanent make-up cannot be performed if:

  • A semi-permanent make-up was set up less than 6 weeks prior the treatment.
  • You have hair transplant on your eyebrows.
  • You have an upcoming surgery within 4 weeks.
  • You are taking blood thinning medication.
  • You are diabetic.
  • You are taking krill oil/fish oil/Vitamin E (Discontinue 72 hours prior).
  • You are taking Vitamin A/Retinol. (Discontinue 1 month prior).
  • You have heart and vascular abnormalities.
  • You have taken antibiotics in the past 30 days.
  • You have tendency to keloid.
  • The skin area is irritated.
  • You have a scar that is less than a year old.
  • You had plastic surgery or radiation in the past year.
  • A PMU or tattoo was lasered away less than 3 months prior the treatment or where the laser wound has not yet healed.
  • You have had peels/microneedling within the past four weeks.
  • You have taken Accutane in the past year.
  • You have had botox injections on the forehead within 4 weeks.
  • You have Trichotilloma diagnosis.

In addition, it is not recommended to have it done if you suffer from one of the following conditions:

  • Haemophilia.
  • Eczema, psoriasis, keratosis pilaris and dermatitis (face only).
  • Chronic acne and rosacea (face only).
  • Allergies or sensitivities to metals or some of the pigment’s ingredients. It is rare to have an allergic reaction but please consider this when booking.
  • Lupus, or frontal fibrosing alopecia.
  • If you need your eyebrows tinted (not henna), please do so at least 3 days before your appointment.
  • If you plan to go on vacation, please plan your trip to at least 14 days after the treatment.
  • Do not drink any alcohol or caffeine the night before and on the day of your appointment.
  • Avoid sun and tanning bed exposure two weeks BEFORE and AFTER your procedure. As your skin exfoliates from a sunburn, it will take the pigment with it.
  • Do not work out on the day of the treatment.

The eyebrows will initially appear darker and more intense on the first days after the treatment. This will gradually lighten and you will hardly see any pigment in the skin. This is part of the healing process. The colour will return to the skin surface after 4 weeks.

After the first session, the pigment can fade up to 60%. That is why a touch-up is always necessary. After the touch-up it only fades up to 20%.

Redness and swelling are minimal.

If you have extremely oily skin, this technique will NOT work well for you. Your end result will look more powdered than you would expect.

If you have little to no existing hair, the results won’t look as natural as those clients who have more hair.

If you are a frequent smoker, iron deficient or anaemic, your pigment may fade sooner.

Only single use, disposable blades and supplies are used. These are discarded safely afterwards. Everything is disinfected before and after each procedure throughout the day.
